Dret a la deshonestedat?
La majoria dels titulars dels diaris que la setmana passada es feren ressò de la l’aprovació, per part del Consell de Govern de la Universitat de Sevilla, de la “Normativa Reguladora de la Evaluación y Calificación de las Asignaturas” foren ben cridaners. “La Universitat de Sevilla reconeix el dret a copiar exàmens” i “Se legaliza la chuleta “ són dos titulars que sintetitzen a la perfecció el que es va entendre –o es va voler donar a entendre- que suposava la nova regulació de la Universitat sevillana. L’he llegida, la normativa –que, per cert, fou aprovada ja fa uns 4 mesos-, i he arribat a la conclusió que els titulars no és que siguin exagerats; és que, clarament, menteixen: la Universitat de Sevilla, evidentment, no ha “legalitzat” copiar.
Més d’un periodista s’ha deixat engalipar per una lectura esbiaixada o mal intencionada del reglament de la Universitat sevillana, especialment de l’articulat que fa referència a les incidències en els exàmens. D’aquest articulat –més concretament de l’apartat 20- es pot inferir que tot i que un alumne sigui descobert copiant en un examen té dret a finalitzar la prova. A no ser, diu la normativa, que la seva conducta interfereixi el normal desenvolupament de l’examen per part dels altres estudiants; en aquest cas es procedirà a l’expulsió de l’infractor. Enlloc no es diu que aquella avaluació adulterada per la còpia serà valorada com si fos bona. Per interpretar que això significa reconèixer el dret de l’alumnat a copiar s’ha de ser seguidor d’aquell principi del mal periodisme que recomana que la realitat mai faci malbé un bon titular.
Tot i això, consider que el reglament de la Universitat de Sevilla és poc afortunat, sobretot per dos motius. Primer, perquè no és suficientment contundent amb els qui intenten enganyar; els estudiants haurien de saber que qui intenti donar gat per llebre s’exposa, fins i tot, a l’expulsió de la Universitat. Els enxampats fent trampa haurien de ser sancionats, sense contemplacions, amb poques manies. Una segona objecció al reglament sevillà és que no tracta de les pràctiques deshonestes en altres formes d’avaluació -com ara la realització de treballs- també emprades en els campus universitaris. Convé recordar que el 33% dels universitaris espanyols afirma haver fet treballs íntegrament copiats de diverses pàgines d’Internet i un 10% diu que, clar i ras, ha lliurat treballs descarregats directament de la Xarxa.
Els reglaments formen part del que en l’argot pedagògic es diu “currículum ocult”; les regles de joc de les institucions educatives també ensenyen, també proposen valors i formes de comportament. Si les universitats fossin més contundents a l’hora de perseguir el plagi retallarien l’espai de la corrupció no delictiva i donarien una bona ensenyança social. És clar que a Balears aquesta contundència podria topar amb algun alumne espavilat que pregonàs que almenys ells, els estudiants, a diferència d’algun polític conegut, no cobren la copiada. La vida política també té el seu currículum ocult i, la veritat, sovint fa malbé tot intent de bona criança.
